What are your professional goals in life? Long term & Short term
I don't have professional goals. I have general life goals. Long term: serve Allah and meet Him with a pure heart. Short term: use the writing skills that Allah gave me to benefit humanity, complete my course on classical Arabic and gain knowledge in classical Islamic scholarship. Also thinking of doing a PhD in Computational Linguistics with a focus on computationally and visually representing some of the linguistic miracles of the Quran, such that they can be appreciated even by people who do not understand Arabic.
Your Passion in life?
Islam - which to me means learning and sharing love, beauty, comprehensive human rights, all from God.

Religiously – What can you offer your spouse?
Love, friendship, moral support, encouraged worship and learning about Islam. But it's not like I'm not perfect - if I'm being lazy about Islamic obligations I would like to him to (nicely, please!!) help keep me on the right track.
Religiously – What are you expecting from your spouse?
Pray 5 times a day - make it a point to pray at the mosque, be open to give regular time to Quran/lessons to improve his Islamic knowledge and relationship with Allah, be trustworthy, kindness and respect to wife (this is his religious duty mentioned in the Quran), and respect and good manners for elders and people in general, earning of Halal and Tayyib (think not just about the salary offered but also about whether the company is violating ethical responsibilities towards the Ummah and humanity in general )

Write an introductory description about yourself exclusively for your future spouse?
I'm friendly, adventurous, and thrilled by animals and greenery and all things natural that Allah created for our enjoyment. Apart from incessant pessimism, I'm generally patient with people's little faults (having a ton of my own), and quite easy-going Alhamdulillah.. I worry about the state of the Ummah and firmly believe that Allah SWT has gifted every one of us with unique talents to make use of. I believe in striving to achieve the highest standards of behavior and life that one can, and such a journey to Allah necessarily comes after understanding the concept of Ihsan. However, one doesn't have to become an incurable perfectionist or control freak. This life is short, it's meant to be lived with a purpose, but it's necessary to relax and have a few laughs along the way. One of my favorite aspects of Islam is thinking well of others, and covering up for them behind their backs. And I love the Shariah - a breath-taking testimony to Allah's Perfection, as magnificent and intricately designed as the entire universe itself. A perfect fit for human nature, all quirks and nuances included. The Prophet (peace be upon him) summed up the religion so beautifully in a single word: Sincerity. I value the freedom to work (within a Halal environment of course), but also value the freedom not to. In any case, in sha Allah I don't imagine I would be able to run off to work knowing I had a family needing me at home, especially young children. I prioritize family over career. I find it superfluous that there are organizations stressing on and on about erasing the gender gap and helping women to get work (as if raising a family is not work) and pushing them into leadership positions (as if motherhood isn't one of the most Divine forms of leadership that Allah inherently made women capable of). This website asked for financial information. I did not answer these questions correctly, because in reality I do not believe I should have to answer these questions on a public profile because I am the girl, not the guy. These are the kind of questions a potential husband needs to answer, not a potential wife. I expect the husband to bear full responsibility of the family and really don't appreciate men expecting their wives to contribute. This kind of behavior is the result of modern third wave feminism, which I abhor.
Describe your ideal spouse
I'm looking for someone who's patient, and understands the importance of manners and respect. He can expect the same from me in sha Allah. Someone who's cheerful and can be flexible with harmless little things in daily life, but gives importance to Islam in his decisions. Someone who's particular about eating and earning Halal. It would be great if they would join in on the journey of knowledge that I'm planning - in Arabic and history - but if not, then at least be supportive of it. Someone who I can talk to. I would love to be a good old-fashioned woman who strives to please her husband (not that I'm not opinionated); but there is after all a reason that Allah gave men a darajah above women (in protection and *provisions* - hence I expect no financial responsibility in the family), and certainly in His Wisdom He knows the nuances between the psychologies of the two genders, and what is necessary for a family to function. But Allah has also obliged men to be kind and respectful to their wives. And at the end of the day, all souls, men and women, are equal in the eyes of Allah, differentiated only by Taqwa. The Prophet (S) said that the best gift a man could give to his children is an education - including behavior, manners, ideology, and so on. In other words, men are also responsible to cooperate with the wife in raising good Muslim children. I'm looking for someone who would like to provide the best education for his children, but also understands that there is more to bringing children up then shoving them into the city's most expensive schools, even if it means losing their morality. There are some things that money can never buy. Most importantly, I'm looking for someone who sees Islam for the beautiful, Divine, merciful and all-encompassing Truth that it is, and not a superficial outfit or an excuse for personal insecurities. Everybody has flaws, and there is nothing undignified in being honest about them. We all need to improve, but nobody changes overnight, we need to accept each other and understand each other before we can support each other as we work towards ideals in sha Allah. -------------------- Edit: The match I'm on the lookout for is *not* (or at least has solid intentions in the near future of not being) busy in work that involves banking transactions or loans, either in direct dealings or in overseeing, acknowledging, or managing them. The Prophet (SAW) said that the one who takes interest, gives it, records it, and witnesses it - all are guilty. I had an offer from a very well known multinational corporation on a project to make the software of the ATM machines of their clients (banks). I recognized that I would have to code into the software the features that include displaying interest on savings accounts, and this would not just be an acknowledgement of interest, but a promotion of witnessing it for not just one customer, but hundreds of thousands on a daily basis - way too much of a burden to deal with on the Day of Judgment. Interest is the only thing that Allah declared war against us for in the Quran if we do not abandon it - so Allah guided me to turn down this offer. I pray that the man I marry cares about these issues. I cannot accept someone feeding me and the children Haram - this prevents prayers from being accepted and much more.
